Special Needs Kids Are People Too!

Do you have a child with special needs? Then you know the frustration of using a curriculum that doesn’t fit your child. How can the Charlotte Mason approach help? Charlotte’s 20 Principles are the key. Her belief that “children are born persons” is the revolutionary idea that makes all the difference for children with special needs.

Children often say “No one cares what I think because I am just a kid.” Special Needs kids receive that message even louder: “No one cares what I think because I am broken.” But Charlotte’s words offer hope and healing to both children and parents dealing with special needs.

Join me, Amy Bodkin, EdS, as we walk through Charlotte Mason’s 20 Principles from a developmental approach, and you’ll see how Charlotte’s ideas can transform your home, your relationships, and your heart. The 20 Principles are really all you need!

Special Needs Consultation for Families

A Special Needs Consultation looks at where your child is developmentally, academically, and socio-emotionally to create a completely customized plan to help your child take the next step in his education. It evaluates where your child is and what the next step is; not where he “should be.” It is completely personalized and takes into account not only the needs of your child and your family but also considers your needs as the teacher. It will not shoehorn your child into a category or curriculum, or limit your choices to a pre-selected list of accommodations. No more stressing about being behind, whether or not you missed something, or wasting money on programs that don’t work for your child! I know you desperately want to give your child an education perfectly fitted to his needs, but sometimes you just don’t know where to start, or how to help him take the next step, and are afraid you might leave out a crucial component. I can help

A place where you can ask questions, meet other moms, and learn the best ways to evaluate where your special needs child is, what he needs, what your family needs, and how to make it all happen with peace and joy, all from a Charlotte Mason perspective.
